Driving into a Hidden Valley...
I titled this post "driving into Hidden Valley" because every day I drive home (my husband Ian and I are the new caretakers here on the Ranch) I feel like I get to escape into a hidden gem, driving along roads adorned with red and yellow leaves, homes decorated for the season, rolling hills and roaming animals...I just wanted to motivate others to allow for a little wandering to creep into your day, I think it keeps us youthful :) I'll post pictures within the next few days to better introduce myself and get ya'll caught up with life on the Ranch!

July at the Ranch
“Everything you did for all of us was incredible! Thanks for taking such good care of us!”
“What a delightful experience, thanks for your hospitality.”
“Thanks for making a space for us to do so much good thinking, playing, and planning!”
“I’m so glad we got to come back to the BEST retreat site we’ve ever been to! The food was incredible every day, and the accommodations and grounds are just beautiful. Thanks for having us.”
Speaking of the food, they asked for our chili recipe that we made for them, and though we wanted to keep it secret, we realized that was selfish, so here it is.
Arlene and Kate’s Chili
Ground beef (5 lbs.)
White onion, chopped (two)
Minced garlic (probably 10 cloves)
Diced tomatoes (huge can)
Tomato paste (can)
Tomatoes chopped by hand (3 big ones)
Chili powder (1 cup)
Ketchup (5 or 6 count squeeze)
Olive oil (1/2 cup)
Balsamic vinegar (2 tbs)
Red wine vinegar (2 tbs)
Kidney beans (3 small cans, 1 large can, or however many you like)
Chopped jalapenos (at LEAST three, but to taste)
Sliced jalapenos (can you handle it?!)
Corn (frozen bag)
Salt (to taste)
Black pepper (like 4 tbs)
Green bell pepper (one, chopped!)
Sugar (1/2 cup, seriously)
Combine.
Just kidding. Begin with cooking the ground beef in a sauce-like pot. Treat this first part as if you are making an extremely meaty meat sauce. Add the olive oil, salt, black pepper, white onion, and half of the minced garlic. Cook this up until it smells really good and your neighbors start dropping by unexpectedly. Add the tomato paste, chopped tomatoes, ketchup, and diced tomatoes. Perhaps you want to add some more meat at this point, perhaps not. We let this simmer for hours and hours while adding the rest of the ingredients in when we felt like it. We believe that you will have the same success with this tactic. Make sure you taste it as you go, or else! This recipe can feed anywhere from two to sixteen people, depending.
*If you have any emergencies, feel free to call us. Please keep in mind the time difference.

Summer Has Arrived!
Since the spring, we have continued to make upgrades to our property and its facilities. We are also eagerly awaiting the September nuptials of Eric and Marie, our lovely contest winners from Montana. However, the Hidden Valley is a popular venue that is fully-booked for the remainder of these summer days. Our guests include the Gay and Lesbian Task Force to family reunions and small weddings. Only two weeks ago, the Hidden Valley Retreat and Spa welcomed the Healing Gardens of Orange County, an Ayurvedic, natural health and healing organization that presented a Panchakarma Retreat. During their stay, guests were encouraged to relax and unwind amidst our nature spa's peace and tranquility with sunrise yoga, natural foods, personalized therapies, live music chanting, meditation, and more.
We look forward to hosting more of these events, as well as yours. If there is anything that we can do for you, then please let us know. Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you up at the Hidden Valley, - a treasure trove that is waiting to be discovered by you!

A Bridal Fair Follow-Up: The Lovely May Day Was A Smashing Success
On this day, the Hidden Valley was an oasis of casual cool and comfortable clouds. Over the course of these past few months, the Hidden Valley Retreat and Spa has seen some major upgrades. An outdoor stage, made of solely organic materials, was built and erected. Land was leveled, terraces were seeded and watered, and a green aisle leading from a dirt road up to the altar was laid. All in preparation of this day's festivities.
Our participating vendors, including Hair and Makeup Artistry by Melanie, Always and Forever Carriage Company, STS Invitations, So Belle, Music As You Like It, and Reverend Pat Borsum, all rolled in early to set up their booths within the Event Center gallery. The wedding contestants and Bridal Fair guests were next to follow.
Ariana and Matt
The small assembled crowd was the perfect size for really diving into the events of the day. In the Event Center Forum, Party Hats Entertainment had set up a decorating station while Elliot Lawrence serenaded us all with his lovely acoustic, cocktail jazz. At one point, the gallery was empty and the forum was full, - of vendors, contestants, and guests alike, all clamoring to create an award-winning hat and bowtie ensemble.
Carolyn and Mike
An hour later, wedding contestants were cajoled into parading around the Event Center gallery while showing off their Party Hat creations. Although Nathaniel really knew how to strike a pose, and Carolyn and Mike two-stepped around the wood floor, it was Zeolah and Alex who won the 10-person Party in a Hat Box gift for their silly stroll, which included Zeolah talking on her cell phone and Alex dipping Zoi in a final pose. Tonya with Indulge Catering pulled up just in the nick of time, and we all headed down to the outdoor stage and ceremony site next.
The Grooms
There, the brides were corralled and the grooms were posted to their positions of waiting at the altar. The brides were spun around in tight, little circles for ten seconds and then they were off! They made a mad dash for the altar. Along the way, they stopped at different stations (where they had to put on: gloves; a large, white crinolin skirt; a garter; and chocolate flavored lipgloss). Then, they rushed up to their respective grooms and laid a kiss on his lips. The first bride and groom to be photographed won this "Rush to the Altar" race. Yet again, Zeolah and Alex took home the prize, - an engagement photo shoot with Kellerman photography.
Zeolah rushes to the altar
Finally, the moment we had all been waiting for was upon us. With so many wonderful couples to choose from, including Ariana and Matt, Jennifer and Jason, Micheli and Richard, Marie and Eric, Rosella and Rudy, Chelsea and Nathaniel, and Zeolah and Alex, we were certainly hard-pressed to choose only one couple to win our "Who Wants to Win a Wedding?" contest.
In the end, we chose Marie and Eric of Billings, Montana, to receive our
September 12th, 2009 dream wedding. Eric's story of persistence in the face of loss inspired us. And, we hoped that his and Marie's non-local residence would provide opportunities for our participating vendors. We are really looking forward to hosting their wedding nuptials at our hillside paradise.
Chelsea and Nathaniel
We also chose Chelsea and Nathaniel, a local Valley Center couple, as our runners-up. They received a 50% Gift Certificate to be applied to their wedding weekend at the Hidden Valley. For their participation and willingness to entertain, all of our attending wedding contestants received a $1,000.00 gift certificate to be applied towards their wedding weekend at the Hidden Valley.

Three More Days and Counting...
Find out which lucky couple wins our dream wedding giveaway this Saturday, May 30th, at the Hidden Valley Retreat and Spa.
Only 8,650 Miles to Love - Couple #27
Cupid was quite literally a grown man wearing red, furry wings and a giant diaper, and his arrow was not initially striking at this Chinatown affair. The "Lock and Key" party proved to be a dud. Failing to find a spark with their counterparts wearing their matching key or lock, Micheli grew quickly frustrated and accosted the cherubic party host. He promised to find her a match.
Fortunately for Richard, he knew the man playing Cupid and he just so happened to be talking to him when Micheli walked by. Cupid grabbed her arm and exclaimed, "I have the perfect guy for you." Then he swung her around to face Richard.
It didn't take long before these two acted on what they knew from that very first moment, - that they are perfect for each other and that it was time to get hitched! As Richard says, "Winning the "Who Wants to Win a Wedding?" contest would be the perfect way to bring our far-flung friends and family together."

On September 12th, 2006, they married. There was no horse and carriage, or other memorable morsels to remember their commitment ceremony by. Rather, six-months later, Melissa was pregnant and her husband was shipped off for two back-to-back deployments. Finally, last summer, he returned and the happy family has been living together as a single unit since. Melissa is now hoping to win the wedding that she has always dreamed of. Good luck to couple #26!!

Couple #14 - Cupids Arrow Finally Strikes These Two College Acquaintances
The young people were re-introduced, through friends of friends, and they eventually went out on their first date. It was a Cardinals game and, somehow, Lauren's aunt managed to tag along for the ride. Nonetheless, Zach and Lauren hit if off and began dating soon thereafter.
One night, during a BBQ at his place, Zach hit the ball far out of the ballpark when he got down on one knee and seranaded Lauren with Garth Brooks' song "Shameless." True to form, Zach performed it in front of all of his assembled dinner guests and friends.
During the winter of '06, Zach fell deathly ill with a Staph infection. Lauren had to skip out on numerous holiday parties and family events in order to be at Zach's bedside in the hospital. It was then when she realized how much her and Zach were meant for each other. Ever since, she says, "we have known that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together, and that we would do anything for each other."

And, now, Vanessa wants to give Daniel the perfect wedding because, she says, "Daniel is my bestfriend, and I want to spend all of eternity with him."

Couple #11 - Videogames and a Non-Virtual Love
Months later, the dorm neighbors ran into each other again at the cafeteria. This time, Nathaniel pretended not to know the girl whose eyes made him cower. Feeling snubbed, Chelsea stomped off and then proceeded to shoot dirty looks at the boy feigning forgetfulness. Finally, Nathaniel grew weary of the game of love that he and Chelsea had been dancing around for months. He went up to her and re-introduced himself. "Yeah," Chelsea responded, "we've met."
"So, if I know you and you know me, then maybe you could stop glaring at me every time we see each other," Nathaniel purred.
Now, the happy couple are college graduates (they have the same degree no less!) who have realized that they are perfect together. They have settled in San Diego, where Nathaniel proposed and where Chelsea plays video games.

Couple #9 - Two Soldiers and One Proposal
Slowly, during deployments and training exercises, these two service members warmed up to each other. One day, Zeolah became violently ill. Alex brought her miso soup and pudding beacuse he knew that it was the only food she could stomach. It was this sweet, simple action which convinced Zeolah that he was the man for her. Upon his return from a deployment to Korea, Alex fell to one knee and proposed.
The excited couple had a bittersweet ceremony before a justice of the peace in Okinawa. Zeolah cried that day not just because she was happy, but because she missed the presence of her mother, father, and other close family members. As we all know, there is nothing better than celebrating the milestone memory of a marriage with your closest family and friends. This is what Zeolah is hoping for, - the chance to celebrate her's and Alex's love for each other with their family.

Build Your Own Bird House, - A Gift from Us at Hidden Valley on This Earth Day
Today, it is absolutely lovely to amble around the historic ranch while breathing in the verdant valley views and soaking in the early morning antics of our neighbors, - a verbose bunch that includes doves, crows, sparrows, woodpeckers, thrushes, and even some birds of prey.
In honor of this Earth day, we thought we'd share some simple bird house making designs with you. It is important to remember that birds make their own choices, so don't be surprised if you find tenants you never expected in a
house you intended for someone else. Also, all the birds care about is their safety and the right dimensions: box heighth, depth and floor, diameter of entrance hole, and heighth of hole above the box floor. In other words, how elaborate you make your bird house depends on your own personal sense of aesthetics.
Below are some tables that refer to various bird sizes and needs:

When it comes to building your birdhouse, you will also want to keep in mind:
Ventilation, Drainage, Entrance Hole, Accessibility, and Limiting Predator Access.
For more information on these as well as building a bird house for other types of birds, please see
http://www.talewins.com/birds/birdhouse.pdf
Most importantly, we hope that you will take the time to enjoy the bounty that this planet offers up not just today, but everyday. We hope you'll always take a moment to: smell the roses, look up and at the cloud formations in the sky above, listen to the wind as it rustles through the trees, and revel in the steady hum of bees pollinating flowers, and life continuing, changing, growing, dying, and being born once again, anew.
Couple #4 - A Dancing Queen Meets Her King
Michelle and Jesus, of San Diego, California.
This local couple just celebrated 6 happy years together.
As avid groovers, they met on a dancefloor and
haven't stopped dancing since. Jesus laments the
fact that he can't provide the "princess
wedding" Michelle deserves, while Michelle hopes
that winning this contest will "finally take our
relationship to the next level since we know we want
to be together forever."
Good luck to couple #4!

Sarah and Johnathon of Casa Grande, Arizona

Spring: What a Beautiful Time for a Wedding
bride (and groom) wants her (and his) day to be fabulous. Weddings
can cost a fortune. The average wedding in the United States costs
over $20,000 and doesn't include the rings or honeymoon.
Wedding favors don't have to be expensive and can still be a lovely
remembrance of your special day. Here are a few ideas.
Place a package of flower seeds in a cellophane bag. Tie with curly
ribbon in your wedding colors and add a card that's says "Watch Our
Love Grow" with your names and date of the wedding. Starting several
pots of the flowers is a nice touch and adds some color to the
favor table as well.
Candles are not expensive. Visit the dollar store or Goodwill store
and buy an assortment of wine glasses, they don't have to match.
Tie a curly ribbon around the stem of the glass with a card that
says "Light Up Love" with your names and date of the wedding. Place
a votive candle in the wine glass. You can stabilize the candle with
just a dab of hot glue.
Candy kisses can be placed in the wine glass. Covered with plastic
wrap and then tied to the stem with curly ribbon so they don't fall
out.
One very personal touch takes a little time and effort but not a lot
of money. Have a friend with a digital camera follow the bride and
groom as they greet each guest and snap a photo. Or have the
amateur photographer snap each guest with the bride and groom as
the guest goes down the receiving line. The photos are then printed
at the reception and pinned to a cloth covered bulletin board.
As each guest leaves they take their photo with them.
Hope these ideas helped.

Finding the Silver Lining in a Black Cloud
With all the dismal news pouring out of every talking head these days, we are certainly hard pressed to find any clouds that aren’t bleak. However, if we flip this economic downturn on its head, we may be pleasantly surprised with what we do discover. Now that the exotic trip to Cancun and the family adventure to Disney World are no longer a viable option, we are remembering what “family + vacation” feels like.
Gone are the days of cramped coach seating on a domestic airline; of fighting over who is going to go where and for how long; and of pinching the pennies while envying what the person next door has. Gone are the days of greedy consumption and over-the-top opulence. Gone are the distraction, the arguing, and the needless wanting. What remains is each other and the intimate moments that we spend together, in the here and now, making those memories that last a lifetime. After all, it is the laughter and the tears that cost very little in the making but mean everything in the long run.
At the Hidden Valley, we plan family reunions all the time. The trend that we are noticing today, as a result of this new “great depression,” is that what really counts is the uninterrupted time spent together in a private setting. At the Hidden Valley, guests have exclusive use of the entire 11-acre property for the duration of their rental period. During this time, they can take long walks together; bathe in the numerous bubbling stone fountains dotting the property; or, they can gather fruit from the organic orchard and then bake grandma’s special homemade pie in the privacy of a full kitchen.
For, it is never too late to stop discounting simplicity, and to remember what life was like before all of the iPods, X-Boxes, cell phones, and social media. It is never too late to grab a guitar, gather around a blazing bonfire, and share S’mores, jingles, and more. It is never too late to rewrite the story of your family and how you connect, outside of Facebook, myspace, Twitters, and Tweets. Now is the time to reclaim your silver lining. What are you waiting for?

Introducing....
Julie and Rodney of San Diego, California.
It must be fate for these star crossed lovers whose paths first crossed as sweet, innocent children. This random meeting became a consistent happening as they continued to grow through adolescence. Although the attraction was mutual and immediate, nothing more became of their young, developing romance. That is until 2007, when destiny bumped them into each other once again. This time around, however, the timing has been nothing but right. On January 30th, 2009, Rodney got down on bended knee and this local couple has known that it was meant to be from the very beginning.
Experience Panchakarma with the Healing Gardens and the Hidden Valley
The Hidden Valley is very excited to work with the Healing Gardens, of Costa Mesa, California, in the deliverance of Panchakarma retreats. Stephen and Fiona Markowitz believe that this partnership will continue to foster Dr. Bernard Jensen's initial dream, - which was to teach others about a healthy lifestyle and natural healing techniques at his beloved Hidden Valley. The Panchakarma 5-day workshop will be led by a team of trained and talented Ayurvedic healers. Relax and unwind amidst the nature spa's peace and tranquility with sunrise yoga, natural foods, personalized therapies, live music chanting, meditation, and more. We look forward to spending the weekend with you in rest and rejuvenation!

“Going Green” – What Does It Mean, Especially in Regards to Your Wedding?
I assumed that what she meant was that she was going to recycle the wedding gift paper, along with the beer and champagne bottles, the day after her festive event. However, over the course of her year long planning process, I was consistently inspired by the depth of committment for the planet that both her and her fiancé embodied. Their story, just like yours, began with the proposal.
After two, happy years together, Joe got down on bended knee and proposed to Becca with a recycled pendant made by a local jeweler. As I have since learned, due to the toxic nature of strip-mining, investing in new rings is simply not a viable option for the Earth. Fortunately, there are plenty of eco-friendly options out there for those of you who do not want to forgo the traditional wedding band. For example, greenKarat (greenKarat.com) uses post-consumer gold and silver to craft new designs by hand, while Touch Wood Rings (touchwoodrings.com) makes handcrafted wooden rings specifically for you that will “delight your fingers as well as your soul.”
High on the excitement of “Yes,” the excited couple got busy with the nitty-gritty, down-and-dirty of wedding planning. The couple knew that they wanted to celebrate their life marker with a late summer Hemlock ceremony and down-home, country reception on the 110-acre property that Joe’s family has resided on for a century and where they, along with Joe’s parents, currently live. (Joe’s sister and her family live across the street, and camping on the land was an accommodation option for the invited nature enthusiasts.)
In order to announce the big news, send out a “Save the Date,” and keep wedding guests informed of plans, activities, changes, and more, Becca and Joe created a blogspot (www.blogspot.com). Aside from being informational, it was fun to witness the couple’s march towards their destiny, - especially since I lived 3,000 miles away.
In lieu of gifts, the couple asked for contributions to be made towards the sustainable home they are building on the family homestead over the next two to three years. Although the lovely couple simply stated that “gifts were not essential,” they also politely posted the names and websites of two companies, one a local potter and the other a local (and sustainable) home furnishings store, for those who were so inclined to purchase something from a registry.
Their 100% potable invitations arrived via snail mail according to custom (three months in advance). Both the invitation and envelope were made of post-consumer waste and had North American Wildflower seeds encased in them. Again, the couple posted suggestions as to what to do with the invitations: “ If you don't want to plant them at home, feel free to bring your invitation to our wedding. We will have a nice area (near our future house) where you can plant them in our yard so Joe and I can watch our love bloom year after year!” You can follow this link for more tips on recycled, tree free invitations:
www.formal-invitations.com/recycled-treefree-paper.html.
Here is where the soon-to-be-married couple became ambitious: the dedicated gardeners vowed to grow all of the food for their own wedding! From the cold-hardy veggies of garlic, snap peas, spinach and onions, to the tomatoes, melons, squash, and leeks that require a large bed, the diligent couple literally spent the year leading up to their wedding “sowing the seeds of love.”
When summer arrived, Joe built both the natural altar where the lovebirds were to speak their eternal vows as well as the outdoor barbeque where the locally raised hens were to be skewered. The fruits and vegetables were harvested, and the week leading up to the big event was spent together in the kitchen, - preparing the food for a new, growing tribe. As the blog stated, everyone was not just welcomed but needed. For a bachelorette party, Becca gathered her girlfriends around her and together they all baked her wedding pies. (Since, according to Becca, “cake is overrated.”)
For the ceremony, Joe wore the Scottish kilt that he has kept in his closet for years while Becca invested in an organic cotton, white sundress. For the fashion forward, there are plenty of eco-friendly, designer wedding dresses abound. Look for natural fibers, such as silk, hemp, and even bamboo, to lighten your carbon footprint. Conscious Elegance (consciouselegance.com) and Thread Head Creations (threadheadcreations.com) both offer a wide selection of gowns (made in the UK). For more help searching for the dress that you have spent your life dreaming of, check out this “Crafting a Green World” blog: http://craftingagreenworld.com/2008/05/30/eco-bridal-diy-upcycle-or-handcraft-your-wedding-dress/.
For an event that is known for offsetting 14.5 tons of CO2, Becca and Joe’s simple yet thoughtful nuptials produced only ONE bag of trash. Although this is an extreme example of one highly motivated couple, you too can set goals for treading lightly on this planet, -the only home that we all truly share together. The key is to agree upon a “going green” value with your partner and then to discuss and brainstorm the unique ways that the two of you can do this together, such as:
• using one site for both your ceremony and reception;
• choosing an outdoor venue that does not need decorations;
• relying on local transportation and demanding (yes, demanding, after all you are the bride and this is expected of you, to some degree) that your guests carpool together;
• use only locally grown flowers;
• in lieu of gifts, have your guests make donations in your names to environmental or humanitarian organizations;
• hire an a cappella group that does not require amps or a blaring sound system;
• or make your own, individualized outfits.
What the current economic crisis, and other world events, are teaching us is that it is time to rethink and reinvent some of our time honored traditions. Forgot the fairy tales that you were told growing up and think about what you want. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and ask yourself: “What really makes me happy?” I think you will be hard pressed to discover visions of a $5,000 gown, a 6-tiered cake, and a 250-person party.
Rather, I believe that you will arrive at an answer that speaks of being surrounded by those you love, and those who love you.
After all, it isn’t a fantasy that you really want. It is a moment to breathe, to reconnect to life outside of the must do’s and gotta have’s, and to rediscover the connections that brought all of you together in the first place.
Own your wedding. Make it yours. Not Becca’s and Joe’s, or Cinderella’s, or Katie Holme’s. And, remember, it never serves anyone to compare your end results, - for there will always be weddings that were both better and worse than yours.

Did you say you’re getting married in Escondido?
With yearly average temperatures rarely dropping below 40°F or reaching above 90°F, the temperate clime allows locals and visitors alike to take ample advantage of the region’s cultural, historical, and entertaining amusements. It is here, in Escondido, where there is truly something for every person, of every age.
For the culturally minded, the downtown’s bustling Grand Avenue has experienced a contemporary renaissance of late. The doors of numerous cafes, restaurants, and galleries, such as the Minghei, have recently been opened along this busy, main thoroughfare. In nearby Grape Park, the California Center for the Arts awaits. A 12-acre campus, it features state-of-the-art theaters, a visual arts museum, an educational complex, and a conference center. (www.artcenter.org)
For the history buff, the Escondido History Museum displays the city's original Santa Fe Depot, first library, Victorian house, barn, and blacksmith shop, while the San Pasqual Battlefield commemorates the Mexican American war. The 50-acre State Historical Park boasts a Visitor Center, an amphitheatre, and a half-mile walking trail, all of which pay homage to the bloodiest encounter the American Army fought in order to win California from Mexico.
Hop on board the “Heart of Africa” safari at the world famous Wild Animal Park and take an open air tour around the thirty acre park where animals roam and fly free just like they do in the African Sahara. (www.sandiegozoo.com) If it is a free escape that you are looking for then check out Queen Califia’s Magical Circle. A brilliant mosaic adorned sculpture garden, it is located within the sprawling Kit Carson Park, and is the last major international work by French artist, Niki de Saint Phalle.
Right down the road from our historic ranch sits Lake Wolford, an angler’s dream. Stocked with Rainbow Trout, Channel Catfish, Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, and Crappies, the lake offers inexpensive daily rates and boat rentals. (www.ci.escondido.ca.us)
With half a dozen wineries, two casinos, shopping, golf courses, the Mt. Palomar Observatory, and San Diego’s renowned beaches all within a short drive, Escondido, California is the ideal destination wedding location. And it is just a heart beat away from the thriving city center of San Diego.

One year later, we felt it was time to show our gratitude by hosting a fundraiser in their honor. We opened up our property to the community with music, food, education, and fun. The best part was that a sizeable donation was made to the Valley Center Fire Department to use as needed.
We look forward to making a difference in our community again, one of these days soon. We thank all of our local heroes! And we thank you, -thanks for coming out, swaying to the music, and making it a day to remember!
The Legendary Daughter of Dr. Paul C. Bragg Visits The Hidden Valley
The Hidden Valley Heath Ranch
Down below, in Hippocrates Circle, the doctor would present lectures on irridology, hydrotherapy, and reflexology. His days were also spent walking around his 13 acres, of winding paths, bubbling stone fountains, and verdant valley views, while he ate directly from over 100 organic fruit trees. Thanks to the work of Dr. Bernard Jensen, as well as that of his neighbor Dr. Paul C. Bragg, by the late 20th century, "Hidden Valley, California" had become synonymous with natural health.
After Dr. Jensen's passing in 2001, at the grand old age of 92, the property fell through the hands of numerous owners. Three years ago, it was purchased by Stephen and Fiona Markowitz, local San Diego entrepreneurs who have owned and operated a national, award-winning event company for the past 20 years. The ambitious couple have been busily renovating and upgrading the facilities, and the land, since.
Unfortunately, the grand re-opening of the Hidden Valley Retreat and Spa, as an event venue for reunions, retreats, vacations, and small weddings, was stalled due to the tragic Witch Creek Fire of 2007.
Now, after countless hours, and resources, spent saving Dr. Bernard Jensen's original dream, the Hidden Valley is once again a thriving land, ready to welcome you back to experience the peace, tranquility, and rejuvenation, that it is famous for.
